Laying Ceramic Tiles

If you're looking for repair or renovation jobs to do around the home or Toronto downtown condo in order to spruce up the place before putting it on the market, you have a lot of options to choose from. You want to make sure your piece of Vancouver or Port Perry real estate is in as near perfect selling condition as possible before you hire a real estate agent and list the property. You can give the outside of the house a fresh coat of paint or paint the bedroom walls a new colour, install new kitchen cabinets, steam clean the carpets or replace worn out bedroom vanities.

Those are just a few suggestions as to home improvement projects. Another project you might want to tackle is installing ceramic tiles in your soon to be Thornhill homes for sale. Laying ceramic tiles doesn't have to be that difficult. Let us help you figure it all out. First off, make sure you go out and procure the following tools: tape measure, chalk line, ceramic tiles of your choosing, plastic spacers and carpenter's square.

Once you got your tools in your Avoca condos, you can start preparing the groundwork for the laying of the ceramic tile pattern. First you need to make sure the sub floor is prepared. Do this by installing ceramic tile backboards on top of any plywood. You could also patch a cement foundation to make sure it's level. Then start the pattern for the ceramic tiles you'll be laying from the beginning of the main floor all the way to the end of the room. Use the chalk line, in a perpendicular fashion to the entrance, as a guide to laying your first row. Then once that is done, you can start laying down your first row of ceramics over top of the chalk line. Use your plastic spacers to make sure each tile is spaced apart equally.

Once you get to the end of the room, put down a piece of lumber or plastic at the end so you know that row is done. Then get the tiles down perpendicular to the very first row you did. Measure the end of the rows' spaces to see how much you'll need to move the centre row. That's done in order to make sure you will get a border that is equal on all walls once your done. Then you get a new chalk line going that will let you know where you'll begin installing the tiles. It might seem hard but it's pretty easy to do. If all else fails, you can say you tried and then bring in the pros to finish improving your piece of Riverdale real estate property.
